One of Today’s Most Comfortable Technologies

Back when we were growing up, we probably expected life in the twenty-first century would be full of cool technological advances.  Maybe everyone didn’t dream of heating that’s embedded in a home’s flooring, but that’s exactly what is available now.  It’s actually a kind of residential (or business) heating system that has been used overseas for some time, and is now becoming well-known and more commonly used here in the U.S. Instead of warming air and then circulating it throughout your home using ducts and vents, electric radiant heat is embedded under your floor and uses the entire floor to evenly distribute low-temperature heat.
No matter the method, technology, or system used, a homeowner quickly discovers that the benefits of electric radiant heat are the same. Electric radiant heat is a unique transfer of energy that naturally searches out colder objects to warm. Instead of rising like warm air, radiant heat starts by warming the coldest and closest objects from its source in any direction. Since floors are usually cold, radiant heating systems are commonly placed under them.
Electric Radiant Heat Tip: Whether you’re renovating your current home or building your dream home, you’ll soon find that electric radiant heat is available for many different applications, including bathrooms, kitchens, heated towel racks, and heated walls and ceilings.

Take Control Of Your Home’s Temperature

Don’t cover your beautiful ceramic tile, marble, or stone floors with rugs—now you can install radiant floor heating and show your floor’s beauty and allow them to give you the heat you want at the same time! The feeling of warmth under your feet when it’s cold and snowing outside is like no other.
Radiant heating also offers you complete control of temperature room by room in your house. Not only that, its operation is completely quiet. Radiant floor heating has even heat distribution and will not effect the furniture placement as it uses no radiators or heat vents. It is easy to install, is very energy efficient. There are also no filters to change or clean, which saves you additional time and money. There is also no dust or dirt forced into your air to breathe, which is extremely beneficial for those who suffer from allergies.
So how does radiant floor heating work? It simply heats the floor with electrical resistance cables that are spread evenly and sandwiched between layers of durable fabric. All these options are easy to install yourself or can be quickly installed by your flooring installer. If you choose to install the system yourself, you will want to have a certified electrician hook up the controls to a programmable thermostat.
Radiant Floor Heating Tip: Not only is radiant floor heating more comfortable, but the costs of operating radiant floor heating systems are nominal as compared to other heating options.

Unparalleled Comfort That Only Radiant Heaters Can Provide

Whether you’re building a new home, or updating your current home, you owe it to yourself to check out the comfort that radiant heat has to offer. Now is the perfect time to look into your heating options. Radiant heaters can be used in a number of applications, including some that might surprise you! Among those spots that can use radiant heaters are tiled areas, hardwood flooring, carpeted areas, and even cement floors.
Not only is radiant heating is one of the most comfortable ways to heat your home, but radiant heaters also offer a diversity of applications. We’d hazard a guess that after that first winter with the radiant heaters in place, you may find yourself wondering how you ever got along without them in the past.
Rather than warming the air, radiant heaters are a type of heater that warms objects. Radiant heat uses objects, such as the floor, to heat a home. The air in the room is warmed when it comes into contact with the warmed objects. Heat loss is reduced and the radiant heat remains in the lower part of the room, warmer near feet level and slightly less so at head level, creating the perfect climate for comfort.
Radiant Heaters Tip: If you’re looking for efficient, comfortable heat for your home, radiant heating could the solution you’ve been looking for.

Winter Is Only A Few Months Away

As we enter the month of September, one this if inevitable.  We are getting closer and closer to wintry weather. You might not want to think about how to deal with snowy or icy weather in the coming winter, just yet. But you know how it goes, by the first big snowstorm, the stores are all sold out of shovels, driveway salt, and snowblowers, and then where will you be? We say it’s time to start thinking about heating systems that can help you deal with snow and ice.
It used to be that outdoor snow melting or heating systems in concrete, asphalt and under pavers was thought to be a luxury most people couldn’t afford. Nowadays, heating systems of heated driveways, walkways or even parking areas are becoming common for many residences and businesses. If you live in a cold region requiring snow removal throughout the winter months, you should consider a automated snow melting system before you begin construction to assure yourself the best design and performance. Adding a heated driveway to your home or business will add safety and value to your property.
Heating Systems Tip: We even offer a portable heating system for your driveway, for those times when you know a big storm is coming; you can set it out ahead of time and not have to shovel at all once that snow starts falling.

Having Trouble Heating An Older Home?

If you’ve ever owned, or lived in an older home, you probably noticed that older homes often times don’t have the necessary heating ducts needed to install a traditional forced air systems for heating and cooling.  Installing these ducts is very expensive. However, there is a cost effective alternative for heating an older home that many people may not have considered in the past.  So what do you do if you live in an older home, and want to install a heating system?

It’s just situations like these that electric radiant heat systems are great, and very cost-effective, solutions for smaller spaces (1-5 rooms). You’ll be surprised to learn how easy to install they are, and also have a very low start-up cost. An electric thermostat is all that is required and costs only about $100-$200.
Another advantage of electric radiant heating over a traditional warm-water heating system is the floor build up or height. Floor build up can be from as little as 2mm. The electric cables are usually installed onto an insulation board or directly onto the subfloor or padding (under carpet or laminate), then the floor covering is placed directly over the heating system or thinset.
Electric Radiant Heat Tip: Warm up times for electric radiant heat systems are generally a lot quicker than “wet” systems because the cables are installed directly below the finished flooring making it a direct acting heat source rather than a storage heater.

Things To Consider When Replacing A Home Heating System

When my wife and I were house-hunting, it seems like every other house we looked at either needed an upgraded heating system or a new roof. With that in mind, my wife and I did a great deal of research into the many options available to homeowners needing to replace a heating system.
A boiler works by heating hot water and then distributing it to radiators, baseboard units or radiant heat tubes that can be placed under the floor. Though not as popular as furnaces, a boiler heating system can be very efficient and makes an excellent choice if you do not need central air.
A furnace – powered by gas, electricity, oil or propane — uses a fan to drive hot air through your ductwork and into your home. The biggest issue with these types of forced air heating systems is their decreased efficiency.
Alternative heating systems are quickly becoming more common, including radiant baseboards, radiant floor heating systems and even radiant ceiling heaters. Many of these new heating systems are using electricity instead of natural gas or heating oil. Not only does this cut down on heating costs, but it is also more efficient and eco-friendly as well. Radiant heating systems are quickly replacing traditional furnaces.
Heating Systems Tip: Hydronic under floor heating systems are some of the most popular forms of radiant heat.
